Although it may seem very hard to convince Mbappe against the idea of signing for Real Madrid this summer, former Liverpool star Alberto Aquilani has decided to try. Mbappe has been in sensational form this season, scoring 25 goals and registering 17 assists in 35 games for Paris Saint-Germain. The forward has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool but looked to be on the verge of signing for Real Madrid last summer. Alberto Aquilani was given his Italian Serie A debut by then Roma manager Fabio Capello at the age of 18. He played his first game in the Italian Serie A against Torino on May 10, 2002. Aquilani was able to celebrate victory on the occasion of his firstSerie A game thanks to the 3-1 win over Torino. In a bid for the midfielder to gain first team experience, Aquilani was loaned to Serie B side Triestina for the 2003/04 season. Barcelona’s wonderkid Pedri has been getting a lot of attention from a lot of former players for his splendid performances both for his club and country and it does not look like those praises will be stopping anytime soon. The young midfielder was handed his debut by manager Ronald Koeman last season and he took his chance confidently, ensuring that he deserved being played consecutively in the La Liga last season. His impressive performances did not go unnoticed as he eventually earned himself a call-up to the Spain national team by head coach Luis Enrique as he was asked to join up with the squad for their Euros campaign.
Following his call-up to the Spain squad, a lot of people expected him to play little or no role in Spain’s tournament but the reverse was the case. He was again given the opportunity to perform on the big stage and the 18-year-old once again did not disappoint. He anchored the Spain midfield when he was on the pitch and played with a lot of confidence as though he was already 25. The 2020-21 English Premier League season has finally come to an end and fans can finally start looking forward to the next football campaign.
