Alberto Aquilani battled with his fitnesswhile he was in Italian football at the start of his career and it continued following his transfer to Liverpool in the Premier League in the summer of 2009. The Reds paid around €20m (£17m) to secure his transfer from Italian capital club AS Roma during the summer transfer window in 2009.

Italian star Alberto Aquilani spent just one season at Liverpool before he returned to Italian football as he struggled to make a positive impact on a consistent basis on Merseyside. Liverpool and Juventus agreed a deal for Alberto Aquilani to sign for the Old Lady on loan during the summer’s transfer window in 2010. AQUILANI URGES MBAPPE TO NOT JOIN REAL MADRID

Although it may seem very hard to convince Mbappe against the idea of signing for Real Madrid this summer, former Liverpool star Alberto Aquilani has decided to try. Aquilani and Micah Richards spoke about Kylian Mbappe’s future after Paris Saint-Germain were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid Micah Richards has urged Kylian Mbappe to join Liverpool or Manchester City instead of moving to Real Madrid in the summer – but Thierry Henry disagrees.

Mbappe has been in sensational form this season, scoring 25 goals and registering 17 assists in 35 games for Paris Saint-Germain. The forward has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool but looked to be on the verge of signing for Real Madrid last summer. AQUILANI: AS ROMA CAREER EXAMINED

Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani had offers from the London duo of Arsenal and Chelsea at the age of 17, but he turned down those offers to continue his development with the Roma youth team.

Alberto Aquilani was given his Italian Serie A debut by then Roma manager Fabio Capello at the age of 18. He played his first game in the Italian Serie A against Torino on May 10, 2002. Aquilani was able to celebrate victory on the occasion of his firstSerie A game thanks to the 3-1 win over Torino. In a bid for the midfielder to gain first team experience, Aquilani was loaned to Serie B side Triestina for the 2003/04 season. He then broke into the AS Roma starting XI on his return to the capital club for the 2004/05 season.

AQUILANI SAYS LIVERPOOL NEED TO START STRONG AGAINST MILAN

Liverpool will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign this season against Italian Serie A giants AC Milan and they would need to record a strong start against their rivals of they want to Ave any chance of making a huge statement in the competition. The Liverpool VS AC Milan fixture is a replay of the gigantic clash between the two sides in the 2005 final.

For Liverpool, it is a chance to get the first three points of their European campaign and sit atop of their group and then returning to domestic duties at the weekend. AQUILANI HAILS PEDRI’S ‘REMARKABLE’ DEVELOPMENT AT BARCA

Barcelona’s wonderkid Pedri has been getting a lot of attention from a lot of former players for his splendid performances both for his club and country and it does not look like those praises will be stopping anytime soon. The young midfielder was handed his debut by manager Ronald Koeman last season and he took his chance confidently, ensuring that he deserved being played consecutively in the La Liga last season. His impressive performances did not go unnoticed as he eventually earned himself a call-up to the Spain national team by head coach Luis Enrique as he was asked to join up with the squad for their Euros campaign.

Following his call-up to the Spain squad, a lot of people expected him to play little or no role in Spain’s tournament but the reverse was the case. He was again given the opportunity to perform on the big stage and the 18-year-old once again did not disappoint. He anchored the Spain midfield when he was on the pitch and played with a lot of confidence as though he was already 25. He was one of the best young players at the Euros and it followed up on the scintillating season he had at Barca last season.
