Alberto Aquilani’s stay with the English Premier league club Liverpool looks finally over after it has revealed that the AC Milan have come to an agreement with Liverpool over the possibility of making the loan deal a permanent move in the summer. AC Milan have been signing a lot of players in recent seasons in order to bring down their average age of the squad. Alberto Aquilani is one of the perfect players to do so, as he is viewed as a replacement for Gattuso in the future. It is thought that Liverpool will be willing to accept a fee of around £ 6 million for the player, who was signed by then manager Rafa Benitez.
Alberto Aquilani has been out of favour at both Roy Hodgson and current manager Kenny Dalglish. As a result, they are willing to cut their losses on the player, for whom they paid £ 20 million a few seasons ago. However, the midfielder has not been able to settle in England at all, with the numerous injury problems not helping his case. Alberto Aquilani will be making his 25th appearance for AC Milan this season in the match against his former club Lazio. If he does so, then it would automatically activate the clause, which states that Alberto Aquilani will be sold to AC Milan for £ 6 million if he makes 25 appearances for the Italian club during the season.
“I want to win something important with Milan. I have been changing teams for three years now and I want to affirm myself at Milan by staying for a long time,” Aquilani said when he returned to Italy last season with Juventus. The loan spell with Juventus was not as successful as his current achievements with Italian Serie A leaders AC Milan.
