INJURY CRISIS HITS HOME

AC Milan have been reeling under the injury crisis in midfield. AC Milan let go Andrea Pirlo in the summer, and it has proven to be a major decision for the current AC Milan manager. AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri was of the opinion that the presence of players like Alberto Aquilani would help him tide over the crisis caused by the departure of Andrea Pirlo. However, the Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has sustained a major injury, which will keep him out of the first team action for quite some time. This has meant that AC Milan have lost a lot of creativity in midfield, which has led them into signing the Inter Milan player Sulley Muntari on a loan deal till the end of the season.

Sulley Muntari moved to Inter Milan from Portsmouth while the Italian club was under the stewardship of José Mourinho. Since then, many managers have come and gone at Inter Milan. The latest – Claudio Ranieri – seems to be someone who does not rate Sulley Muntari as a good player. Hence, the former Portsmouth midfielder has managed just four appearances for Inter Milan this season. The season long loan deal with AC Milan comes as a huge relief for both clubs and the player.

Inter Milan had signed Sulley Muntari from Portsmouth for around £ 12 million. However, they were willing to talk over a potential season long loan deal with one of their arch rivals due to the fact that he was unable to get any first-team action under new manager Claudio Ranieri. Even though the job of Claudio Ranieri is under threat after a series of poor performances in recent weeks, Sulley Muntari has decided to move to AC Milan for the rest of the season for the benefit of his career.
